RECALIBRATION
‘Recalibration’ gamifies the debate around AI-assisted creativity and intellectual property, inviting us to rethink our traditional definitions of originality and creation in the digital age.
Players are dared to guess the prompts behind target-generated images, illustrating the impossibility of exactly reproducing AI-assisted creation. Their performance is captured by scores combining semantic and visual distances to the target image, revealing how AI-assisted creation involves a sophisticated orchestration of parameters, artistic intentions, and creative choices that make each work inherently unique.
This installation is a collaboration between artist Dimitri Daniloff and philosopher Hubert Etienne. It challenges participants through three levels of increasing complexity, from common representations to more atypical productions. Players are thus encouraged to explore increasingly more original and unexpected creative territories, expanding their understanding of AI-assisted art.
