CLASH OF CODES

At the apex of the decisions which will decide the future of our society, and the place AI takes in its future form, Clash of Codes presents an artistic representation of the dialogue and the divergence in positions towards technology.

The AI generated discussion confronts the viewpoints of two algorithmic protagonists, resulting in a dialogue free of human intervention.

The artwork illustrates this discussion, bringing the viewer inside a two-fold universe built on a common aesthetic, a construction of mirrors illustrating a dialogue and reflection of one’s opinion, and light, a universal symbol of intelligence and knowledge.

Obvious, Convergence & Magic LEMP

Convergence is a collective of experts dedicated to anticipating and resolving the societal challenges underlying the development of digital technologies. Its DNA lies in our forward-thinking yet pragmatic approach, enriched by cross-disciplinary expertise in philosophy, technology, finance, governance, and law, cultivated through practice.

Obvious is a trio of artists who create art using artificial intelligence algorithms. Their work aims to question humanity’s relationship with technology while striving to promote a positive vision of the future. In 2018, their work gained recognition through an auction at Christie’s New York, where one of the pieces from their first series was sold for nearly half a million dollars. This event sparked widespread debate about this emerging form of art. In 2023, they established a research laboratory in partnership with Sorbonne University to further develop their vision—a new Renaissance-style workshop where science and art mutually enrich one another.

Magic LEMP is an AI research and development organisation led by Raphaël-David Lasseri, an AI research scientist initially trained as a physicist.
