In a world flooded with images and driven by the rise of generative algorithms, the link between visual representation and truth is being profoundly disrupted.
The machine TRUTH explores this gradual shift toward a reality where images no longer guarantee the authenticity of the information they claim to depict. Using real-time news feeds, this installation generates hyper-realistic yet entirely fictional images. Though they seem plausible, they have no factual basis, embodying the algorithmic fabrication of an alternative reality. The work questions how these new forms of representation influence our perception of the real.
The installation stages an automated, immersive creative process. Viewers face a relentless stream of images, unable to distinguish truth from fiction. The images pile up on the floor, symbolizing information overload and the gradual erosion of traditional visual reference points.
In an era of fake news and widespread distrust of the media, TRUTH is a critical reflection on the role of generative technologies in shaping contemporary narratives.

This project seeks to examine our society and future through the lens of this new technology. In 2023, Matthieu launched Année Zéro, a gallery bringing together the « pioneers » of generative art.
Innervision is a filmmaker. Since 2023, he has been exploring AI’s creative potential while reflecting on documentary photography. His work delves into dystopian interpretations of consumer society through a documentary lens. Both unsettling, haunting, and captivating, his images evoke themes of lost individuality, massification, depersonalization, and standardization. Convinced that AI is a powerful tool, he sees it as a catalyst for new narratives and aesthetics.
